Space City Con will be returning August 2-4, 2013, for its second year to the Houston Marriott Westchase and Hilton Houston Westchase, aiming to be even bigger and better than before and MechCorps will be prepared to welcome attendees with its Battletech cockpit simulator pods.
Billed as Houston's geek festival for all ages, of comics, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, literature, and art, with an emphasis on Texas talent, Space City Con will be featuring guests from all over science fiction fandom including the 7th incarnation of Doctor Who, Sylvester McCoy, Jewel Staite, of Firefly fame, as well as a whole cadre of Starfleet officers, Jedi and Power Rangers just to name a few. Of course, when you are done meeting the stars of science fiction, MechCorps will be there to give your own science fiction adventure with their Tesla II Battletech cockpit simulator pods. Space City Con does not stop and neither does MechCorps, we will be available the entire convention weekend to provide visitors with the chance to become a Mechwarrior and rule the futuristic battlefields! Be sure to come by the MechCorps Pods at Space City Con at 9pm on Friday to see the Great Celebrity Showdown in the pods! Trey Stokes, Jim Butcher, Stephen Stanton, and many other celebrities will be participating head-to-head in the pods to benefit the con charity Kids Need to Read. Come support your favorite celebrity and benefit the kids! Battletech is a non-stop, adrenaline-fueled battle that places each competitor at the controls of their own 75-ton, walking tank. You will have your choice from a wide variety of battlemechs, ranging from the quick and precise to the locked and loaded. Take the fight to the battle arenas of Solaris 7 where the crowd will cheer your every victory.
