Dang, what a weekend! We had 40 pilots participate in the various events and NOONE had the invitational in the bag. There were the known veterans coming in to this invitational, but there were MANY "cinderella" pilots (those unknown pilots that takes the experienced pilots by surprise) that came in and kept the veterans busy and therefore the competition was truely up for grabs.

Meet BattleTech pilots from across the nation in Houston, Texas for the 2007 BattleTech:Firestorm Invitational. This is the first national Firestorm invitational to be held in Houston and MechCorps is honored to be the host! This event is a combination of pilot convention, competition and all things BattleTech®. All pilots are encouraged to attend, no matter what the experience level. If you want to learn what it takes to be a BattleTech Master, just ask the Masters!
Compare your skilz to other pilots.
Investigate the BattleTech® Universe.
Meet strange and unique people... and frag them.
The events coordinator for our Invitational is none other than Dave "Joker" Eichler.
Joker has been a BattleTech Pilot since 1993 and has logged over two thousand missions in the pods. He's also participated in over a hundred events and three national Invitationals, judged three Invitationals and the event coordinator of another Invitational.
When asked what would entice pilots to attend OUR Invitational that he is planning, he states: "I won't kill them, well I'll try. Events are going to be structured so everyone knows them already with no surprises. As some already know, I will be fair with the rules, but the rules will be enforced to the letter."

MechCorps holds frequent "Regulars' Nights" for our Regulars to hang out (and newbies who would want to learn from the Regulars) and do some system testing and experimentation. During these nights we offer an "All You Can Pilot for $25" special for the hours specified for that night. ($20 if you have a MechCorps Clearance Level membership) plus tax.
That's unlimited missions for the price of 4 missions! and you get to hone your skilz, be the first to try out some really interesting experiments, and hang out with other MechCorps Veterans.
The Regulars' Nights are for ALL LEVELS of players... from newbies to Masters.
Regulars' Nights are multi-purpose. First, it gets all the die-hard enthusiasts together on the same night for comradere and a little challenge for their own skills. Second, that's when we try out some scenarios that the Regular's may have never played before or knew existed. Third, it allows Newbies to learn from the Regulars... who are VERY willing to teach others. (Probably because they want more opponents with better skills, but mostly because they love the game.)
