FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 09, 2009
RoboTech, Transformers and BattleTech, OH MY!
That's right, there is only ONE convention that brings you the best of all of the Giant Robot Genre and that would be MECHACON V returning July 24-26, 2009 to the Hilton Lafayette. This Anime, Transformers & Japanese Cultural event is conveniently located along the I-10 corridor between New Orleans and Houston, Lafayette will again serve as the host city for MechaCon. Being a convention held in the "Hub City," MechaCon is easily accessible for fans from not only south, central and north Louisiana, but also east Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Slated for the 2009 convention is a celebration of 25 Years of Transformers, where two of the voice actors who have brought to life many incarnations of Optimus Prime and Megatron (Garry Chalk & David Kaye), bring the wonderful world of Transformers to attendees. Aside from his acting and voice work, Garry Chalk is also an accomplished musician who will be performing at MechaCon's 2009 Opening Ceremonies and Formal/Semi-formal Dinner.

MechCorps holds frequent "Regulars' Nights" for our Regulars to hang out (and newbies who would want to learn from the Regulars) and do some system testing and experimentation. During these nights we offer an "All You Can Pilot for $25" special for the hours specified for that night. ($20 if you have a MechCorps Clearance Level membership) plus tax.
That's unlimited missions for the price of 4 missions! and you get to hone your skilz, be the first to try out some really interesting experiments, and hang out with other MechCorps Veterans.
The Regulars' Nights are for ALL LEVELS of players... from newbies to Masters.
Regulars' Nights are multi-purpose. First, it gets all the die-hard enthusiasts together on the same night for comradere and a little challenge for their own skills. Second, that's when we try out some scenarios that the Regular's may have never played before or knew existed. Third, it allows Newbies to learn from the Regulars... who are VERY willing to teach others. (Probably because they want more opponents with better skills, but mostly because they love the game.)

Welcome to the MechCorps Training Facility.
BattleTech delivers adrenaline-pumping action. From the moment you spot an opponent on your radar screen to the explosive battles, you are exhilarated. Enjoy the hunt for prey in a futuristic wasteland. BattleTech is not hide and seek, it's seek and destroy.
Every moment counts as you control a thirty-foot tall, 75 ton walking tank, blasting your way to victory. You're the pilot of a BattleMech® competing against seven other players in the 31st century. Each 'Mech® is equipped with tons of ammo, cannons, lasers and missiles. Your job is to destroy your opponents while trying to withstand their vigorous attack on you.
In the training documents below, you will learn about the 'Mechs, how to control them and some tips to become a BattleTech Master.
If you'd like to be on the mailing list for future announcements, subscribe to our Announcements Email List and we will send out periodic news, specials and events via email.
