Many of you know that Dave and Buster's had the exclusive lease on the Virtual World BattleTech Tesla system for the past near 10 years. Noone else could have a Tesla system in the city that D&B had the system. Well, as of 2005, Dave and Buster's corporate offices decided NOT to renue the contract and ended the lease with Virtual World. This opened up the opportunity to many forunate entrepreneurs the change to by any of the systems around the country that were formerly leased by Dave and Busters. The Houston set that many of us learned on (versions 4 and 5), played leagues, and made friendships through have been purchased by a group near Dallas, Texas. The pods will be removed the week of September 12, 2005 and moved to Plano, Tx (more info later). We have been in contact with Berserker (one of the new owners) and intend to have many cooperative events in the future. So... what about Houston??? MechCorps Entertainment LLC has purchased the Tesla System from the Cincinnati, OH Dave and Buster's location and will be returning BattleTech to Houston! In late October 2005, MechCorps will send out the Grunt Division to dismantle, pack, ship, convoy, receive and reassemble the set in west side of Houston. The current plans are to have the system tested and ready for deployment for Thanksgiving Weekend 2005. The exact location of the system will be held confidential for the obvious security reasons.
